Empowering Students with Autism to Achieve their Greatest Potential
About Us
The Timothy School is the oldest non-profit approved private school in Pennsylvania devoted exclusively to teaching students with autism. For over 60 years, we have worked to develop an understanding of autism that recognizes the strengths and uniqueness of our children and the specialized methods needed to expand their educational opportunities.
The mission of The Timothy School is to provide students, ages five through twenty-one, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, with the communication, social, cognitive, and life skills necessary to enable them to function as effectively and independently as possible in the least restrictive environment.
We are proud to share that The Timothy School has been awarded a $25,000 Community Grant from the Eagles Autism Foundation to support our new Occupational Therapy Sensory Room.
For years, our students have run a Coffee Cart as part of our on-campus internship program. Thanks to a generous gift from Rubin, Fortunato & Harbison P.C. that program has grown into a full Coffee Bar — creating even more opportunities for students to build real-world skills and independence.
We invite you to join us for the 2nd Annual Heart for Autism Art Show! Explore a variety of student and alumni artwork that reflects the many ways creativity is part of learning at The Timothy School. Admission is FREE!
