Enrollment Process
The admissions process begins with the student’s home school district submitting a referral packet to The Timothy School. The referral packet should include a referral letter from the school district, a current Evaluation/Re-evaluation report, a psychiatric evaluation with a diagnosis of Autism, an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) and any additional background information such as specialists’ reports and medical information. Referrals can be mailed to the school, or emailed to Amy Noone at [email protected].
Once the referral is received, our intake team will review the packet to determine if The Timothy School may have an appropriate placement for your child. If it is determined that we may be able to enroll your child, an intake session will be scheduled with both you and your child. It is in these sessions that you will meet with the multidisciplinary team for a brief interview regarding your child’s current educational placement and progress. The intake team will then work with your child while you have the opportunity to tour the school with our social worker.
After the intake, we will notify you within 48 hours as to whether or not our program will meet your child’s needs. If we have an appropriate placement, your child’s start date will be established. If we do not have an appropriate placement, we will discuss alternatives that you should consider in seeking an educational program for your child.
